What the heck are Colloidal Minerals?

colloidal minerals - what are they

Before we get into specifically these oddly named ‘colloidal minerals’, let us take a quick look at how daily use of the correct minerals can cure many diseases, improve the quality of life and prolong life and well being.
Minerals can be divided into 3 groups, all available in today’s market place.

  • Regular everyday minerals
  • Chelated minerals
  • Colloidal minerals

Regular Minerals: are available from supermarkets to pharmacy and health stores and are usually the cheapest to purchase – however this form is extremely difficult for the human body to break down due to their large particle size and metallic content. Nutritional experts suggest that less than 8% may be absorbed and that in many cases these metallic minerals can accumulate in human tissue and create serious health problems.

Chelated Minerals: were developed around 30 years ago to overcome the toxic problems of the regular minerals. Chelated minerals will give you an absorption rate of around 50%. This is achieved by wrapping amino acids or protein around the minerals to help the body to metabolize them. Many still contain metallic minerals.

Colloidal Minerals:  Here they are, the magical colloidals! They are derived from plants and are the smallest particles that matter may be divided into without losing their individual properties. Because of their microscopic size, colloidal minerals have an enormous surface area and special properties of absorption, creating an amazing 98% assimilation rate. Colloidal minerals have been pre-digested by plants and are 7000 times smaller than a red blood cell and being negatively charged, they are easily attracted to the positively charged lining of the gut. Hence the 98% absorbability.

So why do we need these minerals?

Minerals are the building blocks of life. Today’s modern diet lacks mineral nutrition, simply because our soils lack minerals. Mineral deficient and chemically fertilized soils cannot produce minerals in our plants, fruits and vegetables. If the minerals are not in the soil – they are not in the plant. Pure plant derived colloidal minerals are produced from humic shale deposits taken from prehistoric plant materials that are estimated to be around 80 million years old and rich in earth crust minerals. Colloidal minerals contain 78 minerals in the correct balance for humans and animals.
